What We Do

Since 1871, when it was built by Theodore Vincent Webb, the Reading Room in Great Gransden has hosted social, educational and recreational events and societies for the benefit of residents of Great Gransden and their friends and families. There are regular activities for all ages, several societies that meet regularly, a Friday morning café, and opportunities for private hire for parties - birthdays, christenings and namings, funerals and weddings - and other special events. The large garden has room for a marquee. Both the Hall and the garden have hosted hundreds of events of all kinds over the years - charitable fundraising, concerts, lectures, dinners...... Please get in touch if you would like to discuss how the Reading Room might be the venue for you for an event or an idea you have for a new village society.
